Canada announces Eligible Programs for PGWPs

Canada has recently updated the eligibility criteria for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Furthermore, IRCC has announced eligible programs for PGWPs. As per the new guidelines, international graduates at various levels of study programs who apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit after Nov 1 will now have to meet additional study requirements to be eligible for a work permit after graduation.

Updated Eligible Programs for Post-Graduation Work Permit

  • Agriculture and Agri-food
  • Healthcare
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
  • Trade
  • Transport

These Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligible programs are grouped and listed under Classification of Instruction Programs (CIP), which is the Canada’s system for describing and categorising educational programs.
