The monthly payment of DAAD Scholarships for Doctoral Programmes in Germany is 1,300 euros. The annual research allowance is 460 euros. DAAD grants travel allowance towards travel expenses. The DAAD is committed to climate protection and supports environmentally friendly travel. Therefore, the programme has developed a travel navigator to help students plan and carry out projects and trips as sustainably as possible. In cases of any disability or chronic illness, a subsidy may be provided for additional costs. However, the amount varies on an individual basis.
DAAD Scholarships offer a spouse's allowance, insurance benefits for spouses, registered partners, and a children's allowance under certain conditions. The partner allowance is 278 euros per month.
DAAD also enables foreign students to improve their language skills to experience a joyous stay in Germany. It offers payment of course fees for an online language course after receipt of the Scholarship Award Letter. Reimbursement of the fee for a TestDaF or DSH test, which you can take either in your home country after you have received your Scholarship Award Letter or in Germany during your funding period.

DAAD Scholarships to Study Master Degree in Germany
This programme offers the opportunity to study in Germany by continuing your higher education in Germany with a postgraduate course of study.
Who can apply?
Students who have completed their Bachelor's or Diploma.
What can be funded?
The program provides funding for a Master's degree programme applied at a state-recognised university in Germany or one year of studies in Germany as part of a second Master's degree completed at a home university. However, funding for a Master's programme already started in Germany cannot be granted.
Duration of the Funding
The scholarship is funded up to a maximum of 24 months. If your courses of study in Germany are 2-year, then you must indicate 2 years as the desired scholarship duration in your application beforehand. After you complete your first year of study, your academic achievements will be assessed. The scholarship will continue as planned if the first-year analysis shows that you will successfully complete your course within the time frame. The scholarship usually begins on 1st October of the following year, or even earlier if you opt to take a German language course prior to your studies in Germany.
Scholarship Amount
This scholarship value is 992 euros a month, with an annual study allowance of 460 euros, along with travel and medical allowance (payment towards health, accident, and personal liability cover). Under certain circumstances, one can also apply for additional benefits like the monthly rent subsidy, monthly allowance for accompanying family members, and green mobility top-up.
