Though engineering remains the top courses for foreign students in the United States, there is a clear decline of interest among Indian students. This year, only 24.5 percent of Indian students following engineering courses in the USA had made it in the academic year 2023-24, in comparison to a high 29.6 percent way back in 2021-22.
However, they have shot up, with 42.9 percent of Indian students studying these subjects in 2023-24 for reasons more than the average worldwide phenomenon of changing the job sphere and especially the rise of technology-centric industries.
