For Kirti, hope as always has been a motivation—it inspired her to work hard and make incursions. The acceleration achieved through this award exposed her to different avenues of study, professional development, and perhaps sometimes even uncomfortable conversations that impact her very own lens on this world.

What Kirti choose to study in Australia?

Kirti choose Australia for its multicultural ambience and high standard of education. Studying in Adelaide gave her the opportunity to bond with students of different nations, exchange ideas, and build networks while becoming a part of the vibrant social work community in Australia.

Her studies have thus been fortified with guest presentations, reasonably well-lived experiences, and critical reflexive analysis of the structures of society. Among her most confronting subjects? 'Decolonising Social Work'-an important departure in thinking about Australian history and the evolution of the profession's place therein.

What Drives Her?

Kirti believes in kindness and humility-traits that are important in both her personal and professional life. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's leadership and sense of compassion, she intends to reflect back constructively at the power structures of society to promote inclusivity and empathy.

Beyond Academic

In her spare time, Kirti channels her creative energy into painting. Her all-time favourite painting is The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh, which she loves to reinterpret in her very own style. An avid reader, she includes The Fault in Our Stars by John Green as one of her favourite books.

And what if she had the option of a superpower? The undead explorer, forever fuelled with an insatiable thirst for uncovering the world's and ocean's mysteries, would be a choice!

Kirti's experience shows that, when given the right guidance, opportunities, and open minds, the world becomes her oyster!
