TOEFL, The Test of English Language, is a standardised test to assess the proficiency of the English language of non-native English Speakers seeking to pursue higher education in Study abroad destinations. The regularity and analysis of this particular test are looked upon and conducted by ETS (Education Testing System).

There are two types of TOEFL ExamsTOEFL iBT and TOEFL, which is computed and paper-based examination, respectively. TOEFL Exam Scores are accepted and recognised by the top world study-abroad destinations like the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and many more. The test examines Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing, the duration of which is around 3 hours.

Eligibility for TOEFL Examination

The examination is conducted for students or professionals intending to pursue education abroad or take up work in an English speaking country. However, there is no such official eligibility or prerequisite set by the conducting body for the test takers. TOEFL Test is an open examination to prove English language proficiency and skills before admission to universities and colleges abroad.

The TOEFL test is taken by any student or skilled worker seeking to apply abroad either for studies or work to secure a better future. There is no restriction regarding the minimum or maximum age limit for candidates to appear for the test. The test is taken by students who have completed class 10 or 12 from a recognised board. It has no upper age limit.

The TOEFL Test sets no minimum or maximum academic qualification requirements for the test takers. Hence, the TOEFL Test has no eligibility criteria regarding academic scores and degrees. TOEFL Test registration can be accomplished through the official website. Candidates can take the test through phone or email ID. If you want to book your test slot by phone, then look out for the contact number of the nearest examination centre. Once the booking detail is confirmed, candidates need to pay the registration fee via online mode, after which you will receive a confirmation.

Reading Test

The reading section is analysed on the number of correct reading comprehension Reponses.

The writing test is analysed on the write-up tasks with the perfect word choice, grammar, punctuations, etc.

Speaking Test

The Speaking test analyses a candidate resemblance with real-life situations.

  • One independent task (prep time: 15 sec; response time: 45 sec)
  • Three integrated tasks – Read/Listen/Speak (prep time: 30 sec; response time: 60 sec)

Total time: 17 minutes
