  • Capilano University shortly known as CapU is a research-oriented Public University located in the heart of Metro Vancouver in British Columbia.
  • The University is named after the leader of Squamish people, Chief Joe Capilano.
  • Capilano University's main campus is located in North Vancouver, British Columbia surrounded by lush green bushes providing a calm environment provides top-notch facilities to students.
  • The other smaller regional campus is known as the Sunshine Coast Campus located in Sechelt, British Columbia serving the Sunshine Coast's local communities. The new campus is also introduced in North Vancouver's lower Lansdale.
  • Capilano University offers numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, and dual degree programs, including a wide range of school of study.

College Life

  • Capilano University is known for sports excellence, as the University's sports team “Capilano Blues” has recently won both men and women CCAA Soccer Supremacy Award.
  • “The Blues” are based in the main campus of Capilano and has six men's and women's varsity sports teams.
  • The University's leading newspaper: The Capilano Courier is staffed by students and works independently of the University and students' society, the newspaper is published twice a month.
  • “The Capilano Review”- the University's art journal highlights the visual art, poetry, drama and fiction, it was established by the University's facility and became an independent publication in 2015.
  • Capilano University's Edition was founded in 2008. It is a book publishing imprints of Capilano Press Society focusing on the Canadian Avant-garde writing and art, now operating independently by the students as Cue Books.
  • As soon as the student is admitted to the University, it is mandatory to enroll in the Capilano Students' Union (CSU). It is a resident student society of Capilano Students.
