Campus

Melbourne Burwood Campus

  • The Burwood Campus is the Deakin University's largest campus, located adjoining the Gardiner's Creek Parkland.
  • The campus is just at a distance of 45 minutes by tram from Melbourne Central Business District.
  • The Burwood campus is home to around 27,200 undergraduate and post-graduate students.

Geelong Waterfront Campus

  • The brand new Geelong waterfront campus is located on Corio Bay in the Geelong CBD.
  • The Geelong campus is home to 4,500 students.
  • The campus houses the School of Architecture and Built Environment, Health and Social Development, Psychology, Nursing and faculty of Business and law.
  • Apart from faculties, the new Geelong campus has the Alfred Deakin Prime Ministerial Library, the Alfred Deakin Institute and Costa hall.

Waurn Ponds Campus

  • The initial campus of Deakin University is located in Geelong in the suburbs of Waurn Ponds. It is located 72 km towards the southwest of Melbourne City.
  • The campus is well connected via Princes Highway and Geelong Ring road.
  • It is the research center of Deakin University, as its home to Geelong Technology Precinct.
  • The Waurn Ponds campus is home to more than 7100 students.

Warrnambool Campus

  • Established in 1990, the Warrnambool campus is located on the bank of Hopkins River in the coastal city of Warrnambool near Great Ocean Road and the Twelve Apostles.
  • The Warrnambool Campus is located 5 km from Warrnambool CBD and is well connected through Princes Highway, railway station and bus service from Melbourne and Geelong.
  • The campus offers courses in arts, Business, education, environment, health, law, science, management, psychology and many more.

Scholarships

Deakin University offers a wide range of scholarships for students with academic excellence which includes:

  • The Vice Chancellor's Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with outstanding academic achievements with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 95+ or international equivalent.
  • Also, Students who have exceptional extracurricular skills in sports, clubs, volunteer or charity work, entrepreneurship skills, part-time work or any other activities, would be considered.
  • 100% Scholarship (which means the student pays ZERO tuition fee)
  • The total value of the scholarship can range from $35,000 - $80,000, depending on the length of the course undertaken by the student.

Deakin Scholarship for Excellence

  • This scholarship is awarded to students who show substantial academic achievements and exceptional promise, including Sports, Arts, Community Service work and Leadership achievements.
  • The student would be required to achieve an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 85+ or weighted average mark (WAM) of 80+ or international equivalent.

On-Campus Accommodation

Deakin offers students an extensive range of on-campus accommodation options.

Burwood Campus

Burnwood Campus provides fully furnished accommodation with:

  • Single Studio apartment
  • Two Bedroom studio apartment
  • Four - six bedroom shared apartments
  • 10-bedroom shared unit

Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus

The Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus offers fully furnish on-campus accommodation, which includes:

  • Self-contained studio apartment
  • Two – thirteen bedroom shared apartments

Medical students are provided accommodation with Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery students only

Geelong Waterfront Campus

Geelong Waterfront campus of accommodation in the form of the Shared apartment with 6-8 bedrooms.

Warrnambool Campus

The Warrnambool Campus offers self-contained studio apartments with access to:

Off-Campus Accommodation

Off-campus accommodation is available in all three cities; students need to contact the housing department to know about rental and off-campus accommodation.
