Scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of academic excellence and personal accomplishment.
Entrance Scholarship
As soon as student applies for admission in the University of Waterloo they are automatically considered for entrance scholarship. Following are the list of entrance scholarship
President's Scholarship of Distinction: The scholarship is awarded to students going for full-time first-year degree an average of 95%, the scholarship values $2000. International Experience Award or Research Award is awarded to students who claim or obtain at least 80% in their first year results.
President's Scholarship: this scholarship is awarded to students with an average academic result of 90% - 94.9%, it is available for students going for full-time first-year degree, and the scholarship values $2000.
Merit Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to students going for full-time first-year degree an average academic result of 85% - 89.9%the scholarship values $1000.
Entrance Scholarship sponsored by alumni and donors: the scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence and the scholarships values for $1000 - $5000.
International Students Entrance Scholarships: The scholarship is awarded to students going for full-time first-year degree an average academic result of 90%.

Off-Campus facilities
The University of Waterloo has several satellite campus and facilities in Southern Ontario.
The University of Waterloo also offers pre-courses, part-time studies, online learning and professional development courses, the Centre of Extended Learning located in Kitchener, Ontario is owned and managed by the University.
The Centre of Extended Learning also offers the university's School of Pharmacy and offers advantages to students studying in University's Faculty of Applied Health Sciences.

Off-Campus Accommodation
The university's department of housing and residence offers students to choose between off campus and on campus accommodation. Off campus accommodation is available in the traditional territory of the Neutral, Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg.
