Willing to study in the UK? This article encircles the minimum requirements for admission in UK University.

  • 1.   Research and select the course/program that will serve student's personal, academic and professional goals, which includes:
    •   Level of Education such as Bachelor degree/ Master Degree/PhD
    •   Field of studies such as Science, IT, Business, Art, Psychology, Medicine, Engineering, Nursing, Hospitality, Architecture, Law or others
  • 2.   Universities in the UK have two intakes:
    •   September – October intake
    •   January – February intake
    •   April- May intake for a few courses
  • 3.   Determine course entry requirements, which includes, but not limited to:
    •   Minimum language proficiency: in one of the following language exams: - IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent. Student needs to appear for English language skill exam and meet the minimum language requirement as outlined in the chosen course/university
    •   English Language exam waiver is offered if the student has studied a degree level courses of a minimum of two years in English
    •   Minimum education qualification such as high school degree or other equivalents
    •   Other course requirements (if any) such as enrolment in the art or architecture courses requires submission portfolio of the previous artwork
  • 4.   Application process and deadlines: University application deadlines in UK are generally between October-December for studies commencing in September of the following year.
    However, some universities have different deadlines wherein UCAS applications have common deadlines and other direct application might vary from university to university.
  • 5.  Submit the application and wait for the offer letter from the University (turnaround time can be 2 - 4 weeks). Almost every university in UK requests for credibility interview with the student.
  • 6.   Receive offer letter Universities in the UK provide both conditional and unconditional offer letter
    •   In case of conditional offer letter, student needs to fulfil the conditions requested by the university
    •   In case of unconditional offer letter, the student needs to satisfy the requirements outlined in the letter, including payment of enrollment fees and other requirements.
  • 7.   In case conditional offer letter: Once all the conditions are fulfilled wait for complete offer letter/ unconditional offer letter
  • 8.   Receive Confirmation of Acceptance (CAS) from the University
  • 9.   Once Confirmation of Acceptance (CAS) is received, student can proceed with Visa application procedure such as:
    •   Undertake Medical test
    •   Secure a student visa

    Note: The chosen University must be approved by www.gov.uk to proceed with student visa application.
