For all the international students planning to study in USA, the American government issues a valid student visa, also known as F1 visa. If you are also planning to study in the USA, take a look at the pointers below

Steps for Application of Study Visa:

Apply for the student visa at the U S Embassy or Consulate with jurisdiction over the applicant place i.e. the home country

Schedule an appointment at the relevant local visa center with required documents such as

  • A valid passport with a validity date at least six months beyond your period of stay
  • Confirmation page of DS-160
  • Form I -20
  • Payment of application fees for SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System)

    • Student Visa Application Fee:

  • All non-petition based USA visa applicants Study Visa (F1 visa): $185 * (Subjects to Change)
    SEVIS Fee: $350

*The list of documents might vary depending on each student's course and qualification

Check the date and time of visa interview, and follow the instruction on the US embassy's website

Prepare for the interview and qualify

Once approved, you would be required to pay and obtain Overseas Student Health Cover, to cover any health related costs for the duration of your studies in the United States.
